If you’re a solar installer, you might know SolarEdge Technologies as a name brand in smart inverters. But since the arrival of its Energy Hub in recent years, SolarEdge has made acquisitions and R&D developments to populate its dazzling array of its “uninterrupted living” solutions for the electrified home. And with the 2022 business year, SolarEdge has even more product announcements to help paint new visions and possibilities for residential systems designers and homeowner prospects alike.

If you missed our Q1 webinar, watch our video replay to hear from SolarEdge Sales Education Specialist, and frequent BayWa r.e. podcast guest, Michelle Spina. Hear about SolarEdge’s big push into smart energy — built on foundational moves such as its acquisition of leading battery manufacturer Kokam. Michelle provides an overview of Energy Hub’s flexibility to add and stack additional features and solutions to meet the growing needs of a homeowner later. Energy Hub conveniently provides built-in consumption and production monitoring, plus easy-to-navigate usage display and goal-setting data for homeowners through the MySolarEdge app.

For flexible, whole-home backup, a key component is the SolarEdge Backup Interface (BUI), which avoids main panel upgrades, avoids the need to install a separate generation panel, and avoids derating main breaker. Of course, the “big daddy” of the Energy Hub showcase is the recently launched 9.7 kWh/5kW Li-ion NMC SolarEdge Energy Bank battery — a DC-coupled solution that puts system owners at an advantage in terms of efficiency, with a 10-year battery warranty for unlimited cycles. (The Energy Hub ecosystem is also compatible with LG ESS RESU batteries.)

An exciting focus for the Energy Hub ecosystem is its Smart EV Charger — the only EV charger on the market that can be integrated directly into a residential solar system. Homeowners can charge on sunshine through the Solar Boost mode, with direct communication with other systems components. With a 5-year warranty, this level 2 charger is fully compatible with any EV model.

There’s more too on the SolarEdge S-Series Power Optimizers for residential installations, the SolarEdge Sales Elite training opportunities, and other enticing details in the Q&A with Michelle Spina, along with SolarEdge Southwest Regional Account Manager Neil Shimmenti.
